Natūralus pluoštas to launch production plant in next months

Natūralus Pluoštas, Lithuanian hemp processing plant preparing for its first operating season. Construction of main industrial and administration buildings was finished and the roof of the warehouse was completed. At present, technological equipment of hemp stalk processing in being installed.

In September, it is planned to complete the construction of raw material and filter areas, the main warehouse for production and prepare roads around the factory, finish interior works in early October. At the end of October, it is planned to test and adjust the machinery and start the trial run. The factory is expected to operate at full capacity from January 2019.

„Recently we were visiting fields together with colleagues from grain business company Agrosfera and advised farmers about storage of bales and its supply to the processing plant, so we could obtain highest quality fiber. Most of the fields were cut and undergo the retting process. Currently, it is planned to collect more than 15 thousand tons of hemp stalks suitable for processing. We are looking forward to launching pilot production“, says Raimondas Petreikis, CEO of Natūralus Pluoštas.

Lithuanian company Natūralus Pluoštas started construction of hemp stalks processing plant in Kėdainiai Free Economical Zone worth 8 mln euros in April. It is planned to finish its expansion in a couple of years and process up to 50 thousand tons of hemp.
