The first hemp stalks were processed in the Natūralus Pluoštas factory

The first hemp stalks were processed at the Natural Fiber factory in Kedainiai FEZ. In the pilot mode, modern hemp processing equipment was launched, with an annual processing capacity of about 25,000 tons of raw material.

“The equipment has been tested and works as planned. In one hour it can process 4 tons of hemp stalks, more than 25 thousand tons per year and deliver about 8 thousand tons of hemp fiber. So far, we're planning to work one shift, and we're going to work three in the future“, says Raimondas Petreikis, General Manager of Natūralus Pluoštas.

The factory will produce hemp fiber suitable for non-woven, textile, automotive and paper industries, as well as hemp shives and hemp pallets for construction and the agricultural sectors. Samples of the production of Natūralus pluoštas was already sent to potential customers, the bigger part of them are located in Western Europe.

The area of the Natūralus Pluoštas factory is 5000 sq. meters, the area of the company occupies about 2.5 ha. It is planned to run with full capacity in the first quarter of 2019.
